These digital confidants are becoming the go-to therapists for a generation that finds algorithms easier to talk to than actual humans. While it does have its upsides, this isn’t necessarily a positive trend, and it poses many risks if not used carefully. Here’s why these bots are gaining traction with young people.

1. AI doesn’t roll its eyes when you complain about the same thing again.

Your mum gets frustrated when you bring up the same friendship drama for the fifth time, and your mates get bored hearing about your anxiety. Chatbots never get fed up or tell you to “just get over it already.”
